Overview
This annual 4-day festival is held at the 7th century Jambay Lhakhang in Bumthang, one of the oldest temples in Bhutan. The main attractions are the Ter Chham (Naked Dance) and the Mewang (Fire Blessing). The sacred Naked Dance is performed at midnight within the temple courtyard, with strict restrictions on photography. Local dancers from nearby villages cover their faces to conceal their identities during the performance. Plan your visit to Bhutan for November 2025 to experience the Jambay Lhakhang Drup Festival in the heart of Bumthang Valley, central Bhutan.
