We had one of our best trips ever visiting this beautiful country with Bhutan Green Travel. They couldn’t do enough for us and everything was beautifully organised even down to checking in our flights for us. Our guide Tashi really went thé extra mile and we certainly wouldn’t have got to the Tigers Nest without his help and encouragement. Our driver Ten was also so extremely kind and helpful and acted as porter for our cameras and water with a smile. We would certainly recommend this company without hesitation, we’ve done quite a bit of travelling and they are certainly up there with the best.

Thank you so much for your email. D and I had an absolutely amazing time in Bhutan. I’ll go ahead and apologize for likely misspelling our guide and driver’s names, but Kins and Sanga were both great. We felt so welcomed as soon as we met them at the airport on the first day. The itinerary that we planned with BGT before the trip was perfect. It allowed us to experience important cultural sites, while leaving time for any requests we had (going to the post office in Thimphu to make custom stamps, stopping at a certain location for more time to explore or look around, needing help looking for a particular painting in Paro, etc.)

The trek itself was incredible. The entire trek support crew (horseman, cook, and helper) were all so nice and helpful, and made the experience that much better. This was the first trek we’ve done, but it definitely won’t be the last.

I would say that before the trip, I had fairly high expectations. But it’s safe to say they were completely blown away. We had such a great time doing the Druk Path Trek and exploring western Bhutan. In the near future we would love to return for either the Jomolhari Trek or a tour focused on central and eastern Bhutan. When we do return, we’ll definitely book through BGT, and hope to have Kins and Sanga as our guide and driver again.

We’re happy to recommend BGT to family, friends, and colleagues, as the trip was such a great experience.

Hi Ugyen Rinzin,

I recently embarked upon BGT’s 14-day ‘Best of Bhutan’ Tour which included the Thimphu Drubchen Festival and a trek up to the iconic Tiger’s Nest Monastery. This tour comprised 1-night in Paro before an early morning domestic flight to Yonphula in the far East of the country; an experience in itself. Then back to Paro by minibus over the next 2-weeks. This gave us a wonderful overview of Bhutan; a perfect balance between beautiful scenery, magnificent architecture, and their devout culture. BGT were exceptionally professional from start to finish. Pre-tour communication and arrangements were clear, including flights and visas, and we were completely cared for from the moment we landed at Paro Airport. We had a small group of 3 friends which ensured an intimate, relaxed experience with flexibility to go at our own pace and tweak the itinerary slightly to suit our interests. Our guide and driver were exceptional. Our guide, Namka, was very passionate and knowledgeable for such a young man. He is so enthusiastic about Bhutanese culture and Buddhist religion. He spoke clear English and took the time to fully explain the significance of each place of interest. He was also very attentive to our needs and constantly checked our wellbeing and happiness. He was instrumental in making our trip so enjoyable and memorable and I intend to keep in touch with him. Our driver (sorry, ‘pilot’), Kinga, was more than ‘just’ a driver, which in itself was a massive responsibility on some Bhutanese roads which are long and winding at significant elevation (up to c. 3,500m) and require great care to navigate and I always felt completely safe. However, it was the care and attention he gave us that made such a difference. He was always at hand to help us from and into the minibus and to escort us around the sites. His devotion to duty extended beyond his normal working day, and he often greeted us first thing in the morning before breakfast, and after dinner. His daily routine of washing the minibus and providing fresh bottles of water did not go unnoticed. It was great having a minibus for the 3 of us. It gave us plenty of room and eased mobility in and out. Some days involved many hours on the road necessitated by the remoteness of some sites. I didn’t mind this as I loved the ever-changing mountain scenery, though those who suffer from motion sickness and/or vertigo may enjoy the experience less so. I enjoyed all of the hotels, and was pleasantly surprised by the quality and amount of food we were served during the tour, especially the lunches which were more like banquets. I never felt hungry (& I can eat) and the food was usually of very good quality, especially at the homestays. Thoroughly recommended and I’m already in contact with them for another trip.

We have now reached Kolkata after a wonderful visit to Bhutan. We wanted to sincerely thank you and your team.

Firstly we were very happy with the itinerary that you suggested. It worked out very well and I think we were lucky with the weather. If we had missed Eastern Bhutan, we would have missed a lot!

Secondly our guide, Kuanzeng was very helpful. He accommodated all our crazy requests and gave us a lot of cultural information. We asked to do quite a lot of walking and he sorted that out. We asked for small lunches and (though he found it hard to believe that we were eating too much!) he sorted that out too.

Finally our driver was SO reliable and careful, covering all those Km including snow and difficulted passes. If we had not been confident with him, we could have been very anxious – and we were not!.

In Kolkata we have just met up with my brother, Stephen Bull who traveled with your company about 3 years ago. He was the person who suggested we contact you – very good advice!

Sorry, it’s taken a bit longer to give you our feedback, but every day life took over far too quickly after our return. So here it finally is…

Right from the first encounter with Bhutan Green Travel we were very happy with the efficient and friendly way they dealt with our enquiry, the booking process and answered our questions.

Once arriving in Bhutan we had an exceptional 21 days experiencing Bhutan’s fascinating culture, stunning countryside, colourful festivals, generous hospitality and delicious spicy food – and all due to the dedication of Didi and Karma.

Those two are true ambassadors for Bhutan and Bhutan Green Travel. They went out of their way to ensure we had a memorable trip and their sense of humour made the sometimes long travelling days lots of fun. Didi has a wealth of knowledge, which helped us understand and appreciate the country and its people. Karma made sure the car was always clean and his excellent driving skills made us feel safe, even with the most treacherous road conditions.

Travelling from West to East enabled us to experience the fascinating temples, monasteries, stupas and statues, coupled with the ever-changing panoramic views of the mountains, rivers and valleys.

We can thoroughly recommend Bhutan Green Travel to anyone who is planning to visit this beautiful and enchanting country. Now all that’s left for us is to learn how to make chili cheese, our favourite dish.

It was hard to know what to expect as we don’t usually do tours when we travel, but you were very helpful and thoughtful and made us feel at ease.

I appreciated your very extensive knowledge about the history, religion, flora and fauns of the country and your ability to answer all our questions.

The accommodation was generally good, in excellent positives with stunning views. A few places didn’t have bed lamps for both beds. If we stay more than one might in the same place we don’t need staff to come in and make our beds, also we don’t need new soap every day, this is wasteful.

I was very interesting to stay Bhutanese food and appreciated the opportunity to try different types. In general we were given too much heavy food, I am not used to eating so much heavy food and would have appreciated a light lunch as same days – salad, fruit etc. I was delighted that we did some cooking together and appreciated the opportunity to learn how to cook Bhutanese food.

Your country ability and willingness to adapt our itinerary to incorporate our request was a great bonus. I very much enjoyed looking round the vocational college and meeting and talking to the principal.

Our last day, which included all the things we had requested, was very enjoyable. Little touches like giving me the increase were very land and much appreciated. Going to two festivals was good especially as things were both very different, but two was enough.

You and Ugyen are both wonderful, careful drivers and I feel safe at all times. We enjoyed having you eat with us to and explain the food, chat about the day and poster you with questions, but I also understand that you both need your time off and it is not always possible. Also it seems to depend on the policy of the restaurants. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time in Bhutan, have learnt a lot and now will go home and do some more reading on the subject.
