“In March 2020 we spent a week in Bhutan with Bhutan Green Travel. We found the whole experience from start to finish seamless, with everything taken care of as expected and felt looked after both before departure and while we were in the country. We met Ugyen at the Travel Show and despite there being other Bhutanese tour operators there, Ugyen was the most informative giving us comfort that what we would be getting is a truly unique, and truly personal tour in the Kingdom of Bhutan. This couldn’t have turned out to be more true as the itinerary he helped us put together was tailored exactly around what we wanted to see, with his recommendations, and we were free to choose what level of accommodation we wanted in each place to suit our budget and needs. Ugyen was always very responsive on email coming back often within 24 hours and answering all our (many) questions and various itinerary requests until we were completely happy with it. All the internal flight arrangements, travel and food were all taken care of so once the booking was made all we had to worry about was our international flights to Kathmandu.
Once we arrived we were greeted at the airport by our guide Kuenzang and driver Kinga who both went out of their way to look after us and ensure we had an incredible time until the moment we departed. Kuenzang had a deep knowledge of the country, its history and traditions and there was no question we challenged him with that he didn’t know the answer to. He was a very welcoming and warm host who became a good friend to us on our trip. Kinga was an excellent (and safe) driver, always on hand to help us. The food from start to end was excellent and often an experience in itself sometimes being served as a picnic at the edge of a river overlooking a magnificent Dzong, other times more traditional cuisine eaten within a historic site – we were able to try a whole range of foods and were invited to try a number of local delicacies. The hotels were all excellent though we found the boutique offerings much more personal and intimate than the big-name brands (which should probably have been expected) – the Gangtey Lodge in particular was an accommodation we will not forget and experience that should not be missed! All the historic and religious sites we visited were very well kept, and while Tiger’s Nest was the main one we were keen to see we were treated to some very delightful surprises along the way. We will definitely be back and will certainly look to Ugyen and the BGT team to help with our travel arrangements then too.”
It was wonderful to meet Ugyen in person in Thimphu.
Dan and I returned safely to our home in Scotland yesterday and we are now reflecting on a fantastic holiday. It was truly a wonderful experience. We loved Bhutan and are already thinking about when we can return. Next time we would like to explore the Eastern part of the country.
Thank you so much for all of your support and help in creating the perfect itinerary for us. We loved the mix of trekking, camping, festival, cultural experience and staying in all of the lovely local guest houses and hotels. Tenzin was the best guide and I would request to have him as our guide on our next trip to Bhutan! He was knowledgeable, easy to spend time with and cared that we were having a good time.
Dan had kept the bottle of K5 whisky to try when we got home and he had his first dram (Scottish word for a drink of whisky) last night. He really enjoyed it. It was a lovely gift and one we both appreciated.
I will certainly promote BGT to friends and family who might like to visit Bhutan and I will certainly get in touch with you in the future when Dan and I have saved up enough money to come back to your beautiful country again.
If you are in Scotland please let me know. Dan and I would love to host you in our beautiful country.
Warmest wishes and thank you again
This has truly been the trip of a lifetime – one that we will never forget. We feel very privileged and grateful that you and Kota have shared with us so much about this wonderful country – the culture, the people, the environment and more. We have learnt so much over the past 12 days and are very sad this is our last day. Thank you for looking after us so fantastically, and for making even the long & bumpy road trips fun and jolly! Everything was just terrific, thanks to your excellent organisation, knowledge, warmth, and kindness & of course, humour! Nothing was too difficult for your from finding us a USD stick to organising the best mushroom and chili pizza ever! Bhutan is a beautiful country with beautiful people & we would love to come to see you again next time for a trek, to find a yeti, and to east more & more chilies! Wishing you health & happiness always.
We hugely recommend Bhutan Green Travel for anyone contemplating a trip to Bhutan.
We are totally surprised at quality of accommodation and even more surprised at the quality of the 4 guides/drivers – extremely knowledgeable about the sites + what gifts shops are good & whole country. Excellent ability to be aware of our needs – even before we are! The car was very comfortable & clean. The guides happy to answer all of our questions. The country very spectacular. We appreciate the pace that we were allowed to go & really hope this did not upset/inconvenience the ‘program’. The food was generally great with great choice of lunch restaurants. Red rice, tomatoes, mushrooms, honeys, Bhutanese thingay (pepper) were all some of the best ever eaten – and we’ve eaten a lot! Twice (that I know off) something had to be shuffled around – Hotels – Punakha – Wangdue & Thimphu to another hotels that had 2 consecutive nights, which we appreciate – all handled very professionally. My mother & I both felt safe & “in good hands” with the driving. The last thing you need is to feel anxious, so happy that we were able to be squeezed on to the Bhutan Green Travel schedule.
Excellent craft shop in Thimphu – after lunch – Lungta Handicraft – great range prices.
We have both enjoyed our holiday very much. Bhutan has been a lovely country to visit. Thank you for all your thoughtful help.
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you.
We highly recommend Bhutan Green Travel, a local Bhutanese travel company. The company was efficient and always prompt in replying to our email enquiries.
We undertook a 14-day cultural tour in November 2013 that included two festivals in central Bhutan as well as a number of significant sites. Transport was by a newish, comfortable SUV that handled the winding and sometimes rocky roads very well. Our driver Birkha Gurung was an older, very experienced and careful person who had good mechanical knowledge and experience, which he used to assist another tour group encountering mechanical problems.
We were flexible with our itinerary, which proved beneficial as we were able to include some ‘extras’ which Checkey organised along the way. One was a visit to his auntie’s house in Thimpu where about 10 monks were performing a blessing ceremony and where we were able to taste butter tea and some local snack foods. Another was a visit to a farmhouse in Bumthang where we tried archery and darts followed by a hot stone bath, a great traditional home-cooked meal and local ‘wine’.
All of our 3-star hotels were fine and Checkey managed to upgrade our room on a few occasions due to his wide network of contacts. His choice of places to eat was very good, along with the picnics he organised in the countryside. Checkey was also sensitive to my need for a helping hand on many occasions due to my slight disability in one leg. He also supplied formal traditional dress of his own for my partner to wear to one of the festivals we attended.
Payment for the tour, visas and Druk Air flights was easily made by way of international money transfer from our Australian bank account to the Bhutan Central Bank which holds payment to the tour companies until after satisfactory completion of travel by their clients.
In summary, we were extremely happy with Bhutan Green Travel (BGT). Our bottom line is if you want to have a great time in Bhutan CHECK OUT BGT!
I can’t say I was surprised but I definitely didn’t expect that much! Bhutan is an incredible destination, a haven in the midst of the madness. The sights are fantastic. Thimphu is probably the nicest national capital I’ve ever been to and people look truly happy. It’s not just marketing! As for the organisation of my tour I couldn’t be happier than I am with Bhutan Green Travel. The guys were of infinitive patience and professionalism that I wish there were everywhere else in the world. I will make sure refer the company as often as I can. The hotels, the food, everything went great and the guides Kota & Geley beyond fabulous.
I want to come back already!
Cheers you guys,
The first thing that strikes you as you land and proceed through the airport, is the purity of the atmosphere and cleanliness. Immediately following is the Warmth and Hospitality of the people. That sets the tone for the rest of the visit. My guide, Mr. Sherab and driver, Mr. Tshering were exceptional. They made all the difference, providing me with great company and conversation throughout the long days of our journey together, especially since I was travelling by myself.
The country itself is blessed with unsurpassed natural beauty, with a never-ending majestic panorama. Amidst all this is the culture, the costumes and colours … a veritable feast for the eyes.
Bhutan had been on my bucket list for some years. It was only after Mr. Ugyen Rinzin of Bhutan Green Travel called me all the way from Bhutan, (in response to my online inquiry), that I started to think seriously about making this journey at this particular time. I was so struck by his professionalism, his re-assuring description of the trip and his sincerity that I decided to embark on this memorable journey. My only regret is the brevity of my trip, and that I could not manage some of the strenuous uphill hikes. The Paro museum visit was an eye opener. The bio-diversity of the flora and fauna in Bhutan is fascinating. The visit to this museum educated me in many aspects of this remarkable tiny country. The view from here is spectacular, of the city and the Paro airport. As a travel destination, Bhutan is so unique, and should be at the top of a world traveler’s list. That Bhutan has successfully kept a lid on unbridled tourism and reckless pollution should be a model for reflection, and envy.
Thank you to the thoughtfulness of the People and the Country.
Just arrived back home after 8 happy day’s tour in the beautiful mountainous land of Bhutan with 4 good old friends. If you like nature in its best, tradition well preserved and respected, a surprisingly organized tourism of high level and peaceful welcoming people flexible to make your vacation as best as they can, this Himalayan tiny Kingdom could be your next travel destination, in an overall satisfactory price-quality relation.
Totally a group of 5 friends from different countries, with different travel experiences, expectations and preferences we all fully agree that our Tour Operator “Bhutan Green Travel (BGT)” and its managing proprietor Mr. Ugyen Rinzin made the great difference. BGT was without any doubt the best tourist company we ever had in our lives and Ugyen the best advisor – sensitive, polite, patient, hospitable, generous. Well-traveled himself, with a deep knowledge about his country, and a great experience and ability to catch the ideas of 5 persons and to make them happened, finding the optimum point and balance.
I’ll never forget Ugyen’s prompt replies to my meticulous and demanding e-mails. He was always there for us, ready to answer to all questions and to resolve any arisen issue in the best possible way.
BGT cooperates with some of the best guides and drivers in Bhutan with new vehicles. Mr. Dangsa Kota, our guide, was also the best we ever had, very skilled, professional, patient, flexible and practical, really open minded. A willing and smiling person with sense of humor, very good level of English and a deep knowledge of Buddhism. He was always nice, polite, tireless and ready to answer to every question.
Mr. Kinga, our driver was also excellent in his job, discreet and always there to help us. Ugyen, Dangsa and Kinga were our 6th, 7th and 8th friend in the group and we’ll always remember them with lots of love in the magical frame of Our Bhutan.
I enjoyed very much my Bhutan tour, and in it, the memorable Sakteng Area trek which was not too tiring – thanks to the horses which carried all of my bags – beautiful and most interesting particularly thanks to the people you helped me meet in Merak and Sakteng villages.
The guide, which was very present at all times, helped me understand Bhutan, both the people and their way of life and Buddhism and the temples we visited.
I must also thank you for having accepted to adapt this trip to my 3-day arrival delay.
Additionally, the transportation in your car was really comfortable.
I will sure push all my friends to go to Bhutan, particularly in the Sakteng area, and recommend Bhutan Green Travel.
Best regards,
We had a very nice stay in Bhutan owing to Bhutan Green Travel Agency and its team. We thank you a lot for this.
The first point we would like to point out is the quality of the team who accompanied us during our stay: very professional, very friendly, fully involved in our satisfaction, always taking care of us. We have traveled all over the world and would have liked to find such a team in the other countries we visited!
The selection of hotels was good by mixing very comfortable ones with more simple guesthouses but always with a very good quality of service and relationship.
The food was rather good but may be not very varied from 1 day to the other, although well adapted to tourists taste, not too spicy.
The selection of sites to visit was good also. We feel having visited the best parts in Bhutan.
The only point upon which were little disappointed is the festivals. This was supposed to be the high point of our travel and finally we attended shows with local people, not professionals and among a lot of tourists. May be the information should be better delivered so that people do not expect too much about them. No over promises!
However, globally we spent a very nice time in Bhutan and will really recommend to visit your wonderful country. We will also write to guide books about agency. We thank you very much for all the experiences you allowed us to live and wish you a good success for the future.
I first learned about Bhutan in Johan Kramer’s documentary “The Other Final” about a football match between Bhutan and Montserrat, the then-lowest ranked teams in the FIFA World Rankings. The game was played in the Changlimithang Stadium, Thimphu, Bhutan. Bhutan won the game 4–0. The more I read about Bhutan the more I came to learn that it’s best to go in Autumn for clear skies, birds, and views of the snow capped Himalayas, and best to go in spring for some of the big festivals. We decided to plump for spring and travel from East to West, first taking in the Festival of Chorten Kora, and lastly attending the festival at Paro.
Travelling with a pregnant wife and 1 year old son we were a little apprehensive, but Bhutan Green Travel supplied a nanny called Yeshey free of charge and our driver, Dorji too extra care to drive slowly on the bumpy roads so that my wife was as comfortable as possible. Our guide, Dangsa always made sure my son had anything he wanted at the hotels to make our trip as easy as possible. He was always phoning ahead in advance to ask what foods they could make, and every time we arrived he had something he would definitely eat.
From being picked up at Guwahati airport to saying goodbye 18 days later in Paro we had a real family atmosphere. Especially in the East, tourists are mainly 50 – 70 years old and in quite a serious frame of mind to not miss anything, wake up early and take as many photographs as possible with big heavy cameras. For us, we were more about having fun, relaxing and enjoying the experience. We made great friends with all hotel staff, spoke to local children, stopped for butter tea, and the odd beer in local shops and bars, paddled in the icy cold rivers, played a lot of snooker, and even made a workout video using rocks and bamboo that became famous on the internet! We had lots of random requests that Dangsa, Dorji and Yeshey always worked hard to make possible.
Also, with guides being mandatory we were a little concerned it could be like in China where you are constantly chaperoned. This was not the case, if we wanted free time to walk around by ourselves that was fine too.
Overall we had a great 18 day tour of Bhutan, thanks to Dangser’s excellent knowledge. We learned a lot about the country, the temples, Dzongs and Buddhism Dangser is so enthusiastic about being a guide, sometimes we had to stop him to find seats because he was talking for so long. We especially liked his version of the story of the ‘4 friends’. Dangser had his serious side when explaining the spiritual side of Bhutan, but on the road he was all jokes and he and driver Dorji were a great double act.
Everywhere we went we all prayed for a safe delivery of our 2nd baby in June, and when both boys are older we’d love to come back to Bhutan for a trekking holiday with Bhutan Green Travel. Hopefully then there will be flights via Hong Kong so it’s a little easier to get there from Tokyo.
Visiting Bhutan was a dream come true for my family, friends and I. It is indeed heaven on earth. We were awed by the beauty of your land, the tall green pine trees, the ever blue crystal-clear rivers and especially the very, very clean air, which welcomed us when we got out of the plane. We were welcomed by our guide, Chekey and our driver, Uncle Kinga, and we were given a very comfortable coaster even though we were a small group of 8. Chekey took the trouble to make sure that all of us were comfortable throughout our journey and he did a wonderful job in organizing our holiday. We visited Paro, Thimpu and Punakha.
The hike up to the Tiger’s Nest Monastery was challenging and uplifting. The cool and fresh air plus the beauty of the pine and spruce forest was worth the hike. We were humbled by the simplicity and hospitality shown by the locals and the monks as they encouraged us to move on until we reached the monastery.
I would also like to commend on both Chekey and Uncle Kinga’s patience and concern about our well-being when we hike up to the Tiger’s Nest Monastery. I guess we were the slowest group ever to reach the monastery. My daughter was not well and Uncle Kinga took care of her and led the horse she was riding. All in all we took eight hours to complete this feat. The locals take only 2 hours. It was challenging but worth it. What a great feeling when we finally reached the monastery!
I would also like to express my gratitude to both of them because they took my daughter in the middle of the night to the hospital in Thimphu when she was not well. The doctor and nurses in the emergency ward were efficient and my daughter was immediately put on drips. Throughout the three hours in the hospital, Uncle Kinga was in the ward with my daughter and me while Chekey was with my husband waiting in the lobby. I will never forget their kind assistance towards us. My daughter recovered and was able to enjoy the rest of the trip happily. Bhutan is a unique country. Medical service is free for all even tourists.
The hotels booked by Chekey were good. We truly enjoyed our two-night stay at The Raven’s Nest Resort, which is a 4-star hotel in Paro. The restaurants that Chekey took us for our meals were fantastic and we tasted all kind of Bhutanese food, which were mouth-watering.
I would also like to mention that Uncle Kinga is a very experienced driver especially when we drove through the Dachula Pass. The narrow and winding mountainous roads were being widened and there were long jams along the journey. Uncle Kinga maneuvered the coaster with great expertise and none of us had motion sickness.
The places that Chekey took us to visit were beautiful. He also took us to places that were not even in the itinerary like the Dzong where the King and Queen got married. We even got a chance to walk across on one of the oldest hanging bridge in Thimpu. We even had the opportunity to go to the river to see the migratory birds. What an experience!
Bhutan is a very beautiful country with awesome views of snow-capped mountains. The sky is blue and the air is clean. People here are polite, friendly and humble. I will surely visit Bhutan again and I will definitely recommend Bhutan Green Travel to my friends and to those who are interested in visiting Bhutan because of their employees’ great service and commitment to their guests.
To Chekey and Uncle Kinga, we have become friends and thank you for making our trip a memorable one.
The whole bhutan experience was a wonderful discovery of a still unspoilt country…. but thenzin and tinga the guide and driver from bhutan green travel were very good with us and made sure that we were well taken care of. i must again here thank them for helping me with my predicament as i pulled a muscle in my back on my first day there ..they made sure i was comfortable and i would not have been able to finish our itinerary without their help
Thank you very much for a great 12-day trip from west to East of Bhutan. What an interesting and unique country with its own culture, architecture, nature, religion and customs. Thank you for explaining so much of it to me and for giving me an insight into your Buddhist culture and religion. Thank you for being polite, helpful and considerate throughout the whole trip. Also our driver has been wonderful, so patient and good throughout all the long windy drives.
It was wonderful to see also some of the animals on our trip: the yaks, black-necked crane, monkeys and even a golden langur. The next time, I certainly would like to do some trekking into the countryside. And I would be very happy to have you as my guide again. I wish you all the best.
Thank You So Much for all the Effort made by your Team to make this a memorable visit…. I got 100 BIRDS.
My Gratitude to You and Bhutan Green Travel.
Hope to come back for Birding South of Bhutan.
Kind regards,
Thank you for sorting our trip by the way. Nick and I have nothing but good words and good memories of Bhutan. Thank you to your team. Tenzin and Phuntsho have been amazing. We always felt they took extra care of us (specially watching out every time I start to feel sick in the car 🙂
And of course, thank you for doing Nick’s birthday surprise and how would we forget our second wedding 🙂 it will be our gift to you spreading good words about Bhutan and Bhutan Green Travel.
Thank you!
Cheers,
A colleague of mine, who is in charge of the immersion searched the internet and looked for providers who offer customized cultural immersion for the students. Upon checking on your agency, she asked somebody from the Philippines who already availed of your services. Luckily, one responded and provided us the contact information. I think all the itineraries designed for our trip. Our coaster ride made us bond with each other more. The food that we shared. The accommodation made us feel at home and well taken care of. The tour guide, the drivers and Mr. Ugyen were all accommodating and exciting to be with. We enjoyed the hikes, though tiring. Likewise, our lunch by the river and our visit to different temples and to one public school. All in all, we felt the love and care of the Bhutanese. Truly, Bhutan is a land of happiness.
Many thanks for the awesome travel arrangements and for making sure we were fine during the whole trip. It’s been a week since we’re back and we’re still raving about the Bhutan trip. We truly had a great experience!
Again, thanks and kudos!
Cheers,
I have to say that my trip to Bhutan in last October/November was one of the most unforgettable trips by far. Amazing nature, beautiful people, rich culture and you guys are the major part of it. Your warmth hospitality, kind understanding and flexibility…and the cheerfulness… really made my trip so fun and relaxing. I cannot wait till the next trip back to your wonderful country and to travel with you guys again! Thank you.
Thank you so much for a truly magical trip to Bhutan. It was one of the most incredible vacations of my life. I hope to see you again there soon!
All the best,
Festivals of Nimalung Tshechu + Kurjey Tshechu tour was perfect in every way. Yes, the festivals were colorful and interesting, but it was the travel to and from which was something to with home about. Our guide cheeky knew exactly how many dzongs and monasteries. We card handle (punakha was out of this world).
Driving in Bhutan is a real skill and we felt safe in the hands of ugyen, even though mud, flood and landslides.
Every question we asked was answered from what is this plant? “to what are you dreams for Bhutan?” as answered.
Accommodations were of varying quality but good. The guide quickly learned our favorite. Foods and made sure we had them and more. Seven course much were the harm and we both gained weight. [use food at lunch-perhaps salad/fruit would be just fine]
Not matter what we asked, it was given, tours of incense factory, weaving, museums, finding seeds, rock hunting, hot stone batch, archery+dance competitions, painting school. We requested and it was done. The historical knowledge and price of Bhutan was tremendous. We were treated like queens at every tour. Having dinner with our driver and guide gave us a deeper understanding and admiration for this beautiful country.
The service that Bhutan Green Travel (BGT) provided was very professional, which contributed to a worry-free vacation. We appreciate BGT tailoring the trip to suit our interests and planning a detailed itinerary accordingly. Kinley and Kinga were engaging, knowledgeable, and made sure that our holiday went smoothly. We enjoyed ourselves tremendously and highly recommend BGT services.
Best regards,
Great guide and driver. Flexible itinerary and excellent sites to see.
Wonderful local people. Trongsa Dzong. Yangkil and Rema hotels. Meeting with nuns and monks to distribute glasses. Thimpu Dzong. Visiting families. Glass work at the Tiger’s Nest in the guest room. Hikes with guide.
We found Ugyen was extremely helpful in determining the needs of our group. We very much enjoyed the personal care the guide and driver took to cover all the details and communicate what we going to do for the day. We were able to do small service projects along the way by distributing reading glasses to those in need and high elevation sunglasses.
We had the most spectacular trip to Bhutan. Ugyen, the owner of local agency, was wonderful to work with. His communication was timely and exceptional. He adjusted the itinerary on several occasions to meet our requests. Our guide and driver were top quality. We cannot speak highly enough about our guide, Ugyen Chophel Dorji. He made the trip for us! He was professional, considerate, kind, thoughtful and planned all of our activities specific to our fitness level and interests. He was a delight to work with and I had tears when we had to say our good byes. Our driver Tanzien was also top quality. He drove a Land Cruiser that was high quality and was extremely safe, despite some poor quality roads. The itinerary was perfect. We really liked ending the trip with the Tiger’s Nest hike. It was ideal to save the best for last. Another highlight was the Black Crane Festival.
We fell in love with Bhutan. It is one of our favorite places in the world. We were very happy to get to the central part of Bhutan. We felt blessed to experience the Black Crane Festival, an authentic Bhutanese ceremony. We started with 2 nights in Panaka and we were happy with this accommodation. We then stayed 2 nights in Bumthang, and we also loved this accommodation. Then, we stayed 1 night at Gangley. Then, we stayed 2 nights in Thimpu and we did not feel that the hotel was very good. But, this was not the fault of the agency, we picked this hotel. Then, we stayed 2 nights in Paro, and we again loved both of our hotel choices.
Thank you so much for making our trips so memorable.
We had a great time and your team really took good care of us. Please say thank you to your team for me again.
Thank you for the arrangement of the beautiful traditional clothing that really completed our trip in Bhutan. If you need any help when you come to NY to promote Bhutan. Don’t hesitate to contact me.
It was hard to know what to expect as we don’t usually do tours when we travel, but you were very helpful and thoughtful and made us feel at ease.
I appreciated your very extensive knowledge about the history, religion, flora and fauns of the country and your ability to answer all our questions.
The accommodation was generally good, in excellent positives with stunning views. A few places didn’t have bed lamps for both beds. If we stay more than one might in the same place we don’t need staff to come in and make our beds, also we don’t need new soap every day, this is wasteful.
I was very interesting to stay Bhutanese food and appreciated the opportunity to try different types. In general we were given too much heavy food, I am not used to eating so much heavy food and would have appreciated a light lunch as same days – salad, fruit etc. I was delighted that we did some cooking together and appreciated the opportunity to learn how to cook Bhutanese food.
Your country ability and willingness to adapt our itinerary to incorporate our request was a great bonus. I very much enjoyed looking round the vocational college and meeting and talking to the principal.
Our last day, which included all the things we had requested, was very enjoyable. Little touches like giving me the increase were very land and much appreciated. Going to two festivals was good especially as things were both very different, but two was enough.
You and Ugyen are both wonderful, careful drivers and I feel safe at all times. We enjoyed having you eat with us to and explain the food, chat about the day and poster you with questions, but I also understand that you both need your time off and it is not always possible. Also it seems to depend on the policy of the restaurants. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time in Bhutan, have learnt a lot and now will go home and do some more reading on the subject.
Many thanks
Never have I traveled to a place with such abundant beauty—not just in the scenery, but in the faces of the people. Bhutan holds a special place in my heart. I will never forget my experience; it was life changing. Spirituality, beauty and happiness can really exist all in one place. Thank you to my guide, Chekey, for making me feel so welcome and showing me the hidden treasures of this amazing country!
Sorry, it’s taken a bit longer to give you our feedback, but every day life took over far too quickly after our return. So here it finally is…
Right from the first encounter with Bhutan Green Travel we were very happy with the efficient and friendly way they dealt with our enquiry, the booking process and answered our questions.
Once arriving in Bhutan we had an exceptional 21 days experiencing Bhutan’s fascinating culture, stunning countryside, colourful festivals, generous hospitality and delicious spicy food – and all due to the dedication of Didi and Karma.
Those two are true ambassadors for Bhutan and Bhutan Green Travel. They went out of their way to ensure we had a memorable trip and their sense of humour made the sometimes long travelling days lots of fun. Didi has a wealth of knowledge, which helped us understand and appreciate the country and its people. Karma made sure the car was always clean and his excellent driving skills made us feel safe, even with the most treacherous road conditions.
Travelling from West to East enabled us to experience the fascinating temples, monasteries, stupas and statues, coupled with the ever-changing panoramic views of the mountains, rivers and valleys.
We can thoroughly recommend Bhutan Green Travel to anyone who is planning to visit this beautiful and enchanting country. Now all that’s left for us is to learn how to make chili cheese, our favourite dish.
Kind regards, and please give our best wishes to Gonpoa (Didi) and Karma.
I am sitting at my computer one week after arriving back home from Bhutan and India, dreaming of a return to Bhutan. We had such a wonderful time and learned so much about your country: I can’t thank you and your wonderful team enough for putting the trip together and for all the kindnesses we received during our journey.
I will be posting on Trip Advisor soon and will send a few photos in due course. Meanwhile, David and I hope to see you at Destinations in London at the end of the month – we already have tickets.
With all good wishes
We thoroughly enjoyed our travels through Bhutan Green Travel. The trip was well organised and both Kinley and Kinga were absolutely brilliant. Your brother was especially kind and helpful to us at all times, a real gentleman!
Bhutan is a remarkable place, quite unique and beautiful.
Thank you for joining us for dinner on our first night and providing some lovely Bhutanese wines. We enjoyed them very much.
Kinga mentioned that he may be in London sometime next year; if so please let me know so that we can all meet up and have dinner at my place. David and Frances who live just across from my house will be delighted to join us too.
We will emphasise all the positives of our trip which were many.
Best wishes and look forward to seeing you and Kinga in London.
I’m just awaiting my flight back to Dhaka and onward to the UK .
I always think its important to thank people on a successful organised trip , as a traveller you never know and put your trust in others like in this situation ( albeit recommended )
Everything was as I’d hoped and more ! Karma was a very safe and conscientious friendly polite driver which I’m grateful for as the day starts and continues in a relaxed manner.
DD was an excellent guide , very hospitable , friendly , polite and especially knowledgeable, exactly what I’d hoped for .
They were always both punctual , something I really appreciate.
I’ve had a great time from start to finish ! If and when I return I will have no hesitation to rebook with you and recomend you .
(Visited 107 countries and Bhutan holds a very special memory , thanks to you , DD & Karma )
Regards
We have now reached Kolkata after a wonderful visit to Bhutan. We wanted to sincerely thank you and your team.
Firstly we were very happy with the itinerary that you suggested. It worked out very well and I think we were lucky with the weather. If we had missed Eastern Bhutan, we would have missed a lot!
Secondly our guide, Kuanzeng was very helpful. He accommodated all our crazy requests and gave us a lot of cultural information. We asked to do quite a lot of walking and he sorted that out. We asked for small lunches and (though he found it hard to believe that we were eating too much!) he sorted that out too.
Finally our driver was SO reliable and careful, covering all those Km including snow and difficulted passes. If we had not been confident with him, we could have been very anxious – and we were not!.
In Kolkata we have just met up with my brother, Stephen Bull who traveled with your company about 3 years ago. He was the person who suggested we contact you – very good advice!
Best wishes
We would like to thank Bhutan Green Travel for organising such a wonderful holiday for us and for the care and attention you paid to make sure we got the most from the experience. The standard of accommodation was a pleasant surprise – generally a lot higher than we expected – and you made sure we had lots of opportunities to try different Bhutanese food and drink. We really appreciated the extra little touches, such as lending us the gho and kira to wear at the festival and we felt privileged to meet your lovely family and visit your grandmother’s home.
And we can’t forget Ugen! He was a brilliant driver and we always felt very safe with him, even when the road conditions on the way to Punakha and Gangtey were terrible in the rain. Like you Ugen was very attentive and you both looked after me so well when my slippy trainers threatened disaster in the mud coming down from the Tiger’s Nest.
Bhutan really is another world, a true Shangri La. We loved the experience and will certainly book with you when we visit again.
Kind regards
Well organised custom made trip. Professional guide and driver. Very courteous, punctual and helpful. Went out of the way to meet our requests. Never moaned or rushed us even when they were supposed to be off duty. Gave a helping hand in difficult terrains. Called hotels ahead to made sure we were comfortable in our hotels. Good food and did not allow us to carry any bags.
Bhutan is amazing. Everything worked like clockwork. Guide very knowledgeable and helpful and driver very safe. Visited some amazing sites and the weather in winter if fantastic, clear blue skies and not cold. Can understand why more people don’t go in winter. Hotels were really good.
It was very nice to see you again.
Our visit to the festival was very good especially with the addition of your outfits.
Lulu thanks your wife for lending her the kira. We both look forward to meeting her in London.
We have had a very enjoyable trip seeing your lovely country and arrived in a very nice hotel overlooking a wonderful valley.
What a wonderful trip we had and both Pema and Namgay were very good.

Thank you so much for being a fantastic guide on our wonderful Bhutan holiday. Everything has been a lot of fun, but also well organised and interesting. We have had the holiday we wished for – Bhutan is a very special place – and we hope to return sometime in the future to explore more of it.
